Q

Why does a smartphone get hot?

A

Because it is dissipating heat that may cause a malfunction!

As processing capability increases, more electricity is consumed.

Smartphones allow us to do many things such as taking photos and launching apps. Various parts inside a smartphone―lithium ion battery, semi-conductors, CPU, and chips―are powered by electricity and perform various processing. As smartphones become more multi-functional = have higher performance, they consume more electricity. As a result, heat is generated.

Heat, when accumulated, may lead to a malfunction!

These parts inside smartphones are known to be sensitive to heat. Accumulated heat needs to be dissipated outside otherwise it will cause a loss of function and accelerate deterioration. That is why a heat dissipating agent is used. Electricity is necessary for operation, so only the heat needs to be released outside. Releasing the heat and suppressing battery deterioration leads to extension of a device’s service life.

Heat dissipating agents used in items from small to large

Heat dissipating agents are used in various applications―from palm-sized smartphones to large objects like electric vehicles. Through repeated research and development, ThreeBond has developed various types of heat dissipating agents suitable for a range of devices, including heat dissipating agents that can be used for bonding.
